I’ve created hundreds of books over the years, but this is the one that I’d be lost without. Whether you’re using it to record memories, keep track of your daily schedule, or simply jot down notes, Wanderlust is an excellent companion. The design is simple but elegant.

Participants will create a rich 8” by 10” leather (or other material) journal cover that can easily hold up to four replaceable inserts. I will demonstrate how to make pamphlet stitched book inserts which can remain blank or be stitched into a calendar using the pdf files I supply. I will also show how to create a zippered pencil bag insert. If students prefer to buy their inserts and calendars rather than create their own (now or in the future), Moleskin makes notebooks and calendars that fit nicely inside of the cover.

Speaking of the cover, it will be embellished with an embossed pewter or copper framed photo which students will design and create. I will share several painting techniques that can be used on the insert covers and/or pages during our time together.
